Notes about the Table and contents:
  • Time on this project has been split into time directly spent on building; and, time directly spent reading plans, on directed research and reading specific to something currently being built. Time spent documenting this project is not included - for example working on the project Build Wiki or the Progress Blog. Time spent reading the list serve and other information sites to arm myself with knowledge ahead of time for when I reach a point when it may come in useful is also not included in the table above.
  • Costs or expenses - direct costs; or dollars spent on parts, kit components or pieces that will remain in or part of the plane.
  • Item worked on - and, more additionally, subassembly (e.g. wing or fuselage, etc.) Subassembly will contain a more precise list of components of that subassembly.
  • Part numbers with links back to plans page numbers.
  • Assistance - by this I mean people physically in the shop who helped. This is for compliance with the 51% rule.
Thoughts about the page formatting and ideas around using the wiki to track the aircraft build are at exploring builder's log options on the Breadbin blog.

This page and the site itself will establish the degree to which I have balanced thoroughness and sufficient information against timewasting. Using the wiki for the kit build will be an excellent first pass for when I get around to actually building the Flying Breadbin.
