Engine Stand

Some people find the approach of mounting the engine on a plywood 'firewall' after reassembly to be a good approach. It allows the builder the opportunity of doing a mock install and thereby the ability to solve problems before attaching the engine to the fuselage.

One suggestion for an off-the-shelf engine stand is from Harbor Freight, item 32915, which is capable of handling 750lbs and at the time of writing in November 2010, was priced at $46. Harbor Freight's 1,000 pound engine stand, item 32916, on sale can be picked up for a similar price.
