Builder tip - Case Feet
During the engine build, being able to raise the bottom of the engine above the workshop bench is handy. Resting the case flat on the bench can result in the oil pick-up tube or the pan gasket area being damaged.
PatPanzera has a simple solution that he posted on his
website. Using four carriage bolts, eight nuts and washers, it is possible to bolt "feet" onto the case and raise the engine above the workbench. His advice is that they can remain there throughout the entire build until you ready to mount the engine to the engine mount. The round head on the carriage bolt makes it easy to slide the engine around on the bench top.
