About This Site
This website was set up to help accomplish the following:
- Act as the hub for information about progress toward building the Flying Breadbin, a twin-engine mini-transport. To get there, a kit is being built first to gain first-hand experience in what will be needed once the Breadbin's design is completed.
- The kit project that probably will be built is the Zenith STOL 750
- The process of building a single-engined aircraft will lower the learning curve and reduce safety-of-flight risks when I get to build the Breadbin.
- This website site also provides a place to locate and track the information and thinking in a design process, the decisions, and the myriad components that go into building an experimental twin-engined aircraft.
- Access to information about the design is to approved users only and is not visible on the public portion of this site.
- The site will provide a location to meet reporting requirements, including the FAA and the taxman.
- Data and information doesn't get 'lost' on well-constructed websites, due to integrated SEARCH.
Site History
The Flying Breadbin project dates back to 5 October 2008, and I shifted to a web-based project methodology in early September 2009. For a look back at those early days, click here.
Tracking Progress
- On the Flying Breadbin Blog - The blog provides a casual, conversational record of progress - including some of the personal detours - along the way.
- On the Flying Breadbin Build Wiki. The Build Wiki is a TWiki-based subsite where the hundreds of pages of content are housed as part of record a Zenith build as well as tracking and interlinking the components of the Flying Breadbin.
